Strawberry and Raspberry Daiquiris

Summer in a cup!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup white rum
1/2 cup of lemon juice
1/4 cup lime juice
1/3 cup sugar
handful of strawberries
handful of raspberries
handful of ice

Method:

Throw all of the ingredients into a bowl, and blend!

To recreate the sugar coated rim, as shown above, dip the rim of the cocktail glass into lemon juice (we used a shallow bowl for this), and then into sugar. Shake of the access sugar, then pour the daiquiri into the glass and garnish with any spare fruits on hand.

Pizza at Bocabar, Bristol

Pizza Hut has nothing on these guys, seriously.

If you want proper pizza - take a trip to the Paintworks and step into Bocabar. Not only for the pizza, but the atmosphere, too. With a New York Style loft interior and a bit of Bob Marley playing, it's hard not to feel relaxed.

We ordered a King Bobra: topped with sun dried tomatoes, butternut squash, goats cheese, artichokes, caramelised onions and rocket. Delicious!

The only criticism: bland-butternut-squash. Perhaps a drizzle of honey and a sprinkling of black pepper would have livened it up. In all honesty, I didn't consider this until we'd eaten the entire thing, so it couldn't have been that bad.

Arch House Deli - 'New Yorker' Sandwich

Today, I had the pleasure of eating at my favourite Deli in Bristol - the Arch House. Situated in Clifton Village, the Arch House Deli is a perfect place to escape from all of the hustle and bustle. Although I've bought food from here before - I recommend their oils - I've never eaten in, and it did not dissapoint! Me and my mum both ordered a 'New Yorker' - lashings of pastrami, emmental cheese, gherkins, sourkraut and salad sandwiched between two (extremely thick!) slices of in-store baked bread. At first  I was dubious at the £4.95 price tag (after all, it was only a sandwich) - but trust me, you'll get your moneys worth! We ended up taking half of ours home, as they are more than happy to wrap them up for you. In fact, it's in the fridge now - calling my name.
